The very basic Windows 1.x control panel.

In Windows 1.0, there are no set colors, everything is done using sliders, which can make getting one specific color alot more difficult than it needs to be.

Some of the basic controls in Windows 1.x

It is also possible to run DOS programs from within Windows using the command prompt.

The best part of Windows 1.x: Shutting down! Or exiting, I suppose is the right term for it.
Conclusion: Windows 1.0 does not provide users with the Mac OS-like experience that Microsoft said it would. It seems rather backwards, not to mention that most people didn't have a mouse on their PCs back then. |
